Silentium : Analog Dystopian Concept Art

About this style

Silentium is a grim, atmospheric illustration style inspired by 1990s dystopian anime, dark sci-fi OVAs, gothic horror, and neo-noir artwork. It combines gritty ink linework, dramatic cel shading, deep blacks, cinematic lighting, film grain, halftone textures, VHS artifacts, and restrained but striking color accents. Its signature is a sense of isolation, decay, tension, and cinematic melancholy.

Suggested use

Ideal for dystopian and post-apocalyptic scenes, dark sci-fi, cyberpunk, gothic horror, supernatural characters, biomechanical designs, ruined environments, noir portraits, and cinematic storytelling. It can work equally well for character-focused illustrations and large atmospheric scenes.
